High calcium milk regularly every disease can indeed help prevent bone loss or osteoporosis. But so, high calcium milk consumption should not be necessary every day, especially for those who have grown old because it can facilitate the formation of kidney stones.
As noted surgeon urinary tract from RS Premier Bintaro, Dr. Gideon Tampubolon gas station, intake of calcium is one factor that can trigger the formation of kidney stones. Besides calcium, other substances that can cause kidney stones is oxalate. No wonder when the food or drink high calcium or oxalate, such as milk, cheese, chocolate tea, nuts and spinach is the kind of menu that should be avoided for those who never develop the disease.
Gideon warned, those who have a habit of drinking high calcium milk every day should be wary. Her advice, high calcium milk should not be consumed every day especially for those who are already adults and the elderly.
"Until now there has been no benchmark how many grams of calcium per day which can cause kidney stones. But I would suggest not need to consume high-calcium milk every day. Especially for those who had a kidney stone disease should be further reduced," said Gideon on the sidelines of a media gathering Thursday (19/08/2010) yesterday.
He explained that the high-calcium milk consumption is beneficial for the prevention of osteoporosis, especially when age children and adolescents. But for adults aged 30 upwards, high milk consumption of calcium every day became less meaningful for prevention. "Perhaps it will only slow down," she said.
